Frequently Asked Questions
Honest, straightforward answers for future BCA students & parents.
Q. Do I need prior coding or computer science experience before joining BCA?
Not at all! You just need curiosity, problem-solving enthusiasm, and an eagerness to learn. Our professors start from absolute computer fundamentals (Logic Building, C Programming, and Discrete Mathematics) in the first semester, guiding you step-by-step into advanced software engineering, AI, and web development.
Q. How much practical lab time will I get?
Over 60% of the BCA curriculum is hands-on laboratory practice. Every programming and database course is paired with dedicated lab hours in our air-conditioned computer labs with high-speed internet, dedicated workstations, and open-source development tools.
Q. Can I pursue MCA or higher studies after completing BCA at Dibrugarh University?
Yes! A BCA degree from Dibrugarh University is fully recognized nationally and internationally. You can transition directly into our AICTE-approved 2-Year MCA programme, M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT, MBA in IT, or directly step into campus placements with IT recruiters.
