Centre for Computer Science and Applications | Dibrugarh University
Centre for Computer Science and Applications (formerly known as Centre for Computer Studies) is one of the premier institutes of North-East India imparting quality computer education. Dibrugarh University initiated its journey of imparting computer education by establishing a dedicated Computer Centre in 1976.
The Computer Centre was established with the prime objective of creating computer awareness among teachers, research scholars, and employees of the University. It introduced computer education through a comprehensive "Six-months Certificate Course on Computer Programming" and actively trained personnel from leading financial institutions, including State Bank of India, Dibrugarh University Branch, to catalyze digital transformation across the region.
In 2004, it was upgraded to the Centre for Computer Studies (CCS) and launched the Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA). The BCA programme was introduced in July 2004, followed by MCA and BSc (IT) in 2007. In 2018, the centre was officially renamed the Centre for Computer Science and Applications (CCSA), continuing its mission of academic excellence, cutting-edge computing research, and industry-aligned technical education.
